No more "B"

Little did we know Saturday would become the big day that Mia would no longer get her binkie or B as she calls it. We were at Target and she found a giraffe, aka moo cow, hugged it, kissed it and said me? My response, if Mommy can have B then you can get moo cow.
Nick was at the start of his work week so it was perfect timing... He is one to give in quickly. Shocking I know! I thought for sure Mia and I would have been up all night and have a very hard 3-5 days. But she has done great!! She has impressed us so much. Here is Moo Cow !

Our 2 Year Old!

On the 21st Mia turned 2. For her actual birthday we did a family day and went to the Phoenix's Children Museum. At the museum Mia loved the noodle room. They had pool noodles hanging from the ceiling to the floor for kids to run through. Nick and I and both thought Mia would be afraid to go through it, little did we know it would be her favorite activity. There was also a grocery store, kitchen, sock room and a massive tree house. Unfortunally there were a lot of older kids running wild that we had to pass on the tree house.
On Saturday we had Mia's birthday party with a few close friends and family. It was so much fun to watch Mia open her gifts and get excited about them. Uncle Kris and Aunt Nichole got Mia a jeep. I do not know who was more excited about it... Kris or Mia! Kris talked Nick into putting it together that day. I am so glad they did. The face that Mia showed was priceless. Mia made sure her cousin Tessa was in the jeep next to her when she started to drive. I will post video of them driving later.
Thank you for celebrating Mia with us!

Our Big Girl!

Mia has moved into a big girl bed and loves it! Her baby has become her new sidekick. Once Mia and I get back from Vegas, Mia is getting rid of her binkie. I am hoping baby will come in handy and fill the void.
If you have not heard already. Mia is all about wanting to go potty in her potty. Anytime anyone is in the bathroom she thinks she has to go. We have tried and tried to go and it finally happened! It caught us all by surprise! Nick and I were so excited. I never would have guessed we would have been that excited!
Our handy helped! There is no more doing anything by yourself in our house. Mia has to have a hand in it one way or another. I caught her outside helping Nick with yardwork.

Lackland and a little glimpse of Texas

Two weeks ago we boarded a plane and were Texas bound...
Wednesday- We survived our first plane ride with two toddlers. During take-off Mia had her feet in the air and was saying yeah! We were nice and did not tell the flight crew it was Mom's birthday in fear of what the payback would be :) Once we made it to the correct house we unloaded and let the kids run free.
Thursday- We were up bright and early to see the Airman Run. There were 8 flights graduating. They do a 1.5 mile run for all the family and friends to see them before the Coin Ceremony. On their first pass by I missed Kevin and snuck across the street to catch him on the way back. After the run we had a couple hours of down time so Nick, Mia and I went shopping to pass the time. Mia was a trooper with how muggy and hot it was. The poor Airman were dropping like flies during the Coin Ceremony. As soon as they were released they had a family member tap them out. Kevin wanted the kids to tap him out . Mom and Mia took off to go find him and Dad and Cal followed. It was so good to see him. Kevin had to stay on base that day, so we went to a BBQ place and Nick, Bryon and the kids went to the airport to pick up Peyton. Kevin's buddy who flew in to surprise him and be there for his graduation. Kevin was speechless.
Friday- Graduation Day! Everyone was there early to get good seats in the shade. After a quick graduation Kevin was free to give us a tour of his dorm and was able to leave base. We were told before we got to his dorm do not step on the chrome and do not use the drinking fountain. Who knew the kid that never had a clean room would have everything perfectly placed and measured out. Once we got back to the house the boys headed out to Bass Pro and Emily and I got left with two tried and cranky kids. Yes mom ditched us in search of a thrift store.
Saturday- The Riverwalk and The Alamo. We took a tour boat and learned a lot about the history of San Antonio. Since we were only a few blocks away we decided to go to the Alamo. After we were done we went back to the house got a few things and took Kevin back to the base to go shopping.
Sunday- Our last day... We (the Kergers) over slept and yet were still out of the house in 15 minutes. Kevin was so excited for us to see the church he went to. It was his only place for alone time and could not get yelled at. During the worship they played a song about letters from home and everyone would yell. It was very neat to see the different weekers. The first weekers are called the sneaker weekers. I overheard an airman tell his family the first week he was there he walked in and started crying cause it was the first time that he did not get yelled at in 5 minutes. After church we went and got lunch and headed back to the house to pack and leave for the airport. Getting ready for the airport reminded me of a scene from Home Alone... running late and things were everywhere. We made it with time to spare. Mom and Dad took a different flight home and got a great reward for doing so. Hopefully Em and I will be able to bum some Southwest points to go to Kev's tech school graduation. One can hope right!?!
We had a great 5 days with Kevin. Lots of laughs and memories! Congrats to all the Airmen!

Catch Up!

We have been busy around here... Here is a quick catch up!
Mia has become a talking machine! Mia is obsessed with Legos! We were able to check out the Splash Pad with Emily, Cal, Tess, and Jo! I now realized I never took pictures of the Splash Pad just the playground. Tess, Jo and I were able to take a trip to the Arizona Science Center last week. I have not been there since high school. Three hours had passed before we even knew it. Mia was a little to young to join us. Mia has been into playing under a blanket so i figured it was the best time to make our first fort! She loved it! Mia has been a fish in the water. She wants to go into the "ool" everyday. She likes to kick with Daddy! Nick brought home a puppy from work and Mia wanted to keep her. Her name is Puppy to Mia and Beckett to everyone else. As you will see Mia loves playing in Beckett's bed.
